Force Measurement Technology is the Core Competence of HAEHNE

Web tension control in winders is the core competency of the HAEHNE company. The tension forces are captured at idler rolls with special web tension force sensors such as under pillow block load cells, radial force sensors or ready-to-use tension idler rolls. The acting forces are captured by strain gauges applied to double beam cantilever measuring elements within the force sensors. The bridge signals are fed into analog or digital strain gauge amplifiers where they are displayed with tension indicators or used in closed loop tension controls.

The web tension control products for unwinder and rewinder are available in different designs ranging from a few Newton (N) up to several KiloNewton (kN) with different protection classes up to IP67. The force sensors are also certified according to the European Community explosionproof directive ATEX.

Tension and/or compression force measurement and control are necessary in many production processes. The load cells and tension transducers come in many different designs such as ring force sensors, force measurement bolts, clevis load pins for compression forces as well as tension forces in fork heads or clevises mounted directly into electric linear actuators or hydraulic cylinders. Therefore, the monitoring of assembly operations such as press fitting can be relatively easy accomplished. Portable force measurement systems complete the HAEHNE product spectrum.

-HAEHNE manufactures complete tension control systems consisting of force sensor, strain gauge amplifier and PID controllers especially for drive controls of winding machines such as unwinder, rewinder or winder. The strain gauge amplifier controller combinations is especially well suited for very sensitive closed loop controls. The amplifiers are also available in such fieldbus standards as: Profibus, Interbus, CANopen and DeviceNet in field enclosures as well as enclosures for DIN rail mounting.
